EXMORTEM: 'Bitter Disciplin' Video Posted Online

April 14, 2005

Danish death metallers EXMORTEM have made their video for the track "Bitter Disciplin", taken from their latest "Nihilistic Contentment" album, available for viewing at Earache.com.

Filmed in sub-zero temperatures in an abandoned warehouse space back in December, "Bitter Disciplin" makes full use of disjointed visual effects to leave the viewer feeling genuinely uncomfortable. EXMORTEM mainman Sigtyr describes the video as "a fucking raw piece of visual aggression! 666 percent attitude on the screen!"

Regarding the video shoot, Sigtyr said, "We had found four locations at this old cement factory (abandoned for 15 years or so…) and the first location where we wanted to shot the whole band was in this fucking huge silo. We had to carry all the equipment up this very small staircase (outside the silo) up on what must have been fifth/sixth floor… But we managed to get it all up and when we put up lights, smoke machine etc. inside it just looked so damn cool! A huge dome of destruction!"

EXMORTEM released their fifth album, "Nihilistic Contentment", in January via Earache/Wicked World Records. The CD was recorded over a four-week period at Antfarm Studio in Aarhus, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, HATESPHERE, MNEMIC).

EXMORTEM, who were recently rejoined by drummer Reno Kiilerich (DIMMU BORGIR, PANZERCHRIST, VILE),were previously signed to France's Osmose Productions and Holland's Hammerheart Records.
